The Young Farmers Challenge is a high-energy team event designed to test practical skills, teamwork and problem-solving in a fun and competitive environment. This popular competition brings together young people with an interest in agriculture and rural activities for a fast-paced challenge at the Kempsey Show.
Teams compete through a series of practical tasks that reflect real-world farming skills, with courses designed to keep both competitors and spectators entertained.
The competition is open to teams of four participants aged 14 to 22 years. Teams must include at least one member of the opposite gender. Team members do not need to attend the same school or organisation.
Teams will be given the challenge pattern shortly before the event begins, keeping the competition fair and exciting. Courses may include a range of practical tasks and activities, with different courses used for heats and finals.
Prize money is proudly sponsored and awarded as follows:
1st Place: $200
2nd Place: $100
3rd Place: $80
Entries and payment must be completed in person at the Show Office.
